April 2012 Update

Tucson International Airport and Arizona Department of Transportation recently announces plans to improve operations at Tucson International Airport. This development will have a very postive impact on the Aiport Commerce Center.

The city of Tucson and ADOT have partnered to to purchase enough right of way to straighten Alvernon coming from the north directly linking it to Palo verde without major forks in the road. It will then proceed all the way south past Elvira and Corona to Rita Ranch.

In bigger news Tucson Blvd. will be sealed off to allow for more Air Freight staging, Rental Car and parking operations. Also Country Club Rd. the western border of Airport Commerce Center, will become the main artery into Tucson International Airport’s Entrance.

Development Information – Properties Available

This property is right in the heart of Tucson International Airport environs, one of the most rapidly growing sectors of Tucson. Recent completion of the regional transportation system involving Keno Blvd., Alvernon Way, Golf Links Rd., Kolb Rd. and Valencia Rd. has drastically improved access to the Tucson International Airport and surrounding areas, from the central and east areas of Tucson. This has led many companies to choose the Airport as their final site selection. Five hotels, including Best Western, Quality Inn, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn and Travelodge are all open and representing over 750 rooms within walking distance of the site.

The Airport Commerce Center offers fully improved sites from 30,000 s.f. to almost 18 acres with high-image frontage and reasonably priced interior locations. American Airlines purchased 11 lots and constructed its airline reservations system’s western headquarters on the site, which opened in 1991.

This project was developed using industrial revenue bonds which will be fully paid off in December of 1992. The joint venture will then own the land free and clear.
